1. Fallout 4

 

As the fifth installment in the Fallout series, Fallout 4 further develops the story that has been brewing across Bethesda games for over 10 years now. Fallout 4 is set in the nuclear ruins of what used to be Boston and sections of New England. Two hundred years after wars over resources that resulted in the nuclear fallout, you must navigate the ruins, build your arsenal, combat enemies and create settlements. Fallout 4 easily provides 200 hours of content to keep the solo player engaged. Fallout 4 takes the top spot in our list of the best PS4 games for 2015.

2. Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Standard Edition

 

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the seventh installment of the Call of Duty franchise, set in a world where bio-technology has created the most unique of Special Ops soldier. Go deep into enemy territory as a member of the most elite of fighting forces to execute classified operations and engage in covert battles around the world. Black Ops 3 introduces new character creation and mobility tools. For the first time in the COD series, you can play the game as a female protagonist, and you can choose from a selection of ethnicities for your character.

3. Star Wars: Battlefront, Deluxe Edition

The official release of Star Wars: Battlefront occurred on November 17, 2015, but plenty of testers had been busy during the beta period exploring planets and conducting missions. Testers reported that each wave of enemies makes the game progressively more challenging. However, you may find some attacks predictably repetitive if you play solo. Pick up a co-op partner to change the missions up a bit. Purchase the Deluxe edition to get five additional in-game items.

4. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate provides PS4 players with the exclusive content of 10 additional missions. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has all new weaponry and combat scenarios. You can play as the deadly assassin twins, Jacob and Evie Frye, in this release. Finally, with developers moving away from geographic realism and more toward playability, Syndicate is the long-awaited course correction for the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Well done, Ubisoft, well done.

5. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD

 

High definition visuals bring the Final Fantasy Type-0 HD narrative to vivid life. A class of 14 elite military students, deemed Class Zero, battles with strategy and magic in a brutal war to save the country from the Empire. You can play as any of the 14 elites, each with his or her own unique abilities, weapons and talents. Players warn that the gore and brutality are significant in this installment, so play at your own risk.

6. Bloodborne

 

In the tradition of Dark Souls and Demon Souls, evil lurks around every corner in Bloodborne. This horror-based role-playing game places players in a gothic new world rife with religious symbolism, terrifying mobs and deranged, malformed creatures at every turn. Play solo or multi-player, but be sure to explore every nook and cranny.

7. NBA 2K16

Hardcore gamers say that NBA 2K16 has the best AI of any sports game on the market. With a hefty collection of new modes, and the Spike Lee feature length MyCareer narrative, NBA 2K16 does not disappoint as this year’s installment of the best sports franchise ever created.

8. Grand Theft Auto V

The higher resolution graphics make Grand Theft Auto V even more spectacular than earlier versions. The layers of detail are outstanding and the scenery is breathtaking in the most elaborate open world ever conceived. With the next-generation PS4, you can now play Grand Theft Auto V in first-person mode, changing the entire perception of gameplay.

9. FIFA 16, Standard Edition

Though Fifa 16 does not have any major overhauls over last year’s release, players will notice some definite improvements. With stronger defense play than FIFA 15 and better career modes, most players find the changes add excitement and defense skill to this year’s game. AI is more refined, with restricted angles of attack from AI teammates. The new Draft mode puts the Ultimate Team in reach.

10. UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection

Critics say if you have never played UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection on PS4, you need to do so ASAP. This collection bundles all three iterations in the Nathan Drake trilogy into one experience. Smooth transitions have been inserted between titles, and the graphics, textures and lighting are all improved, as has the character models. UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection is expected to be PS4‘s biggest draw for the 2015 holiday season.
